Saleen Mustang Gurney Signature Edition

Saleen Automotive is one of America’s premiere performance car makers and has been for over a quarter of a century. Saleen announced at the New York Car Show that they will be teaming up with Mr. Dan Gurney to create the brand new 2008 Saleen Mustang Gurney Signature Edition. There will only be a total number of 300 Gurney Signature Edition Mustangs and they are all going to feature the 465HP Saleen supercharged engine. The legendary Gurney Eagle logo is going to be represented on a few specific spots of the mustang as well as all the mustangs offering custom leather seats that will be either blue or red.

The mustang will be able to hit a top speed of around 140Mph which is all you will ever need. The supercharged engines are very powerful and you can pick up speed quickly with these machines. The price for each of the 300 Saleen Mustang Gurney Signature Edition is going to be $24,995 which makes it a great price and fits into the average of most family vehicles. Most of the power comes from a completely customized and specifically tuned race craft suspension as well of from the sticky Pirelli tires which coast on roads.

The mustangs aren’t suppose to start production until April of this year so you still have a chance to get one of the 300 if you’d like. They should be hitting dealers in late April. The car is a must for anyone who collects sports cars as everyone knows that Dan Gurney is a legend in the American race world. The mustangs will come in three different colors and each color will have 100 of each made. The colors to choose from are Torch Red, Performance White and Vista Blue which is the feature colors for the mustang.

Spyker C8 Aileron Pictures & Review (2008)

Spyker Cars is a performance car manufacturer who specialized in premium sports cars

. They recently announced the release of the 2008 Spyker C8 Aileron in Switzerland. It’s a completely aluminium car with a long wheel base model and comes with either an automatic gearbox or manual gearbox.

The Spyker can reach a top speed of 187 Mph and hits 0-60 Mph in only 4.5 seconds making it one of the fastest street legal sports cars. The engine has 400 BHP and is a state of the art engine for performance cars. The wheelbase on this model increased by 4.5 inches which means the doors are always bigger allowing for comfortability.

The car comes in 14 different base colors but the car can be painted any color you choose for an added fee. There are also some awesome LED lights used on the car to add to the attractiveness. Everything has been fully customized on this new release of the Spyker including but not limited to the interior, power train, audio system, wheels, and anything else you can imagine.

The car has an amazing look to it and it looks like something from out of this world. The car features a slim design, and the doors open upwards rather then the traditional method. The inside of the car has custom leather seats as well as an amazing audio system with speakers in the doors added.

The audio system can be used by Ipods and all the other major music players on the market. The Spyker C8 Aileron is one of the biggest and most anticipated releases of 2008 and they have made a solid vehicle again. There is also a GPS system added on the car and many other features which make it a car worth buying in 2008.

Saleen S5S Raptor Concept Pictures & Review (2008)

When you see it for the first time, you may think it is Ferrari or a Lamborghini. But you will be surprised to know this yellow one is an all American car. The Saleen S5S Raptor was introduced at the New York Auto Show on 20th March 2008. This could be a in the history of the new high performance car manufacturer Saleen.

The two seater model Raptor with its engine at the middle is the first project from Saleen’s new management team. This is Saleen’s follow up to the much hyped S7 super car. The ‘S5S’ name stands for Saleen 5-liter supercharged motor, which produces monstrous power of 650 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque. And this is a green car with the engine which runs on ethanol. Saleen chose the ethanol burning engine to help reduce emissions and oil dependence. It reaches 0 to 60 MPH in 3.2 seconds. The Saleen S5S Raptor achieved a top speed of over 200 MPH.

The over all look of the car is simply astonishing. It is definitely going to turn heads wherever it goes. The sexy front flanks and wedge design is perfect for the super car. You can see the speed even in the design of its head lights.

The Saleen S5S Raptor is subtler version of its predecessor S7 and is made with light weight aluminum composites. Sun light drizzles through the solar tinted glass sun roof. Saleen says that the S5S Raptor could be on the road in two years at an estimated $185,000, depending on the public’s reaction to this car.

Hertz to auction 25 Shelby Mustang GT-H Convertibles

Are they really "one-of-a-kind," as stated by Kruse on its official auction page, if there are 25 of them going up for auction on the same day? That's not to say getting one of the 500 Hertz Shelby Mustang GT-H Convertibles (sheesh, that's a mouthful!) that were built in 2007 is a bad thing, but nobody really knows if these vehicles will ever really gain in value over more pedestrian versions of Ford's iconic pony car like their forebears have. Rest assured, though, you are not going to be bidding the same $250,000 that collector Ron Pratte paid for serial #001. For reference, the last batch of rent-a-racers that were auctioned off managed about $33K per unit.

The car itself is powered by a 319-horsepower version of Ford's ubiquitous 4.6-liter three-valve V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission -- perfect for the kind of top-down summer cruising that these vehicles are likely to see. If you want one of the 25 going up for auction, they'll be at the Kruse Select Auction in Monterey, CA next week.

Chrysler LLC's U.S. October Sales Down 35%

As if Chrysler LLC doesn't have enough probblems to worry about, now it has to deal with the overall decline in U.S. auto sales. The firm which comprises the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands reported total October 2008 U.S. sales of 94,530 units, down a staggering 35 percent from the same month last year. Chrysler suffered the most losses selling a mere 19,903 vehicles in October which represents a decrease of 51 percent compared to the same month a year ago. The Jeep brand delivered 21,360 units in October, down 33% from last year while Dodge sold 53,267 vehicles, a 27 percent decline from October 2007.

"While October was a very tough month for everyone in this business, we as an industry must focus on the fact that there are still many serious car buyers out there, and every company has an equal opportunity to win their business," said Jim Press, Chrysler LLC Vice Chairman and President.

"From a Chrysler perspective, we are pleased that despite this marketplace downturn, our critically important Dodge Ram launch is on schedule and our overall pickup truck share is on target. We look forward to rolling out the rest of our 2009 model year vehicles with improved quality and fuel economy and fighting for those customers who are in the market," Press added.

2010 Ford Mustang Hot Wheels Toy Appears on eBay

A 1:64 scale die-cast version of the yet to be revealed 2010 Ford Mustang emerged on eBay this past weekend only to be removed by its Malaysian seller on Monday. While we cannot be 100 percent sure, from the looks of it, the slightly (ab)used Hot Wheels-branded toy version of the new Mustang GT appears to be a prototype model that somehow escaped from Mattel's factory. Novitec Rosso 599 GTB Fiorano Bi-Kompressor Makes 808 hp

Ferrari tuner Novitec Rosso takes the 599 GTB Fiorano Bi-Kompressor into F1 territory

There are cars, sports cars, supercars and then comes...what? Well, then comes this 599 GTB Fiorano by tuner Novitec Rosso who make this Ferrari's numbers look a lot like the Italian carmaker's F1 car.

We have 808 ph, 823 Nm of cranking capacity and a top speed of more than 340 km/h. Track times are 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds, 0-200km/h in 9.7 and 0-300km/h in 25.5 seconds. If you're giving out numbers on your 0-300km/h time, you have confidence in what you're putting out there on the street.

The Novitec Rosso's Bi-Kompressor V12 adds 188 hp and 215 Nm of torque from the 'factory' 599 GTB (factory must come in quotes since Ferrari builds its cars by hand, not by assembly line). The price for this newly tuned engine is 46,900 euros, which comes to about 250 euros for each additional horse.

Novitec Rosso is a tuner with top engineering capabilities. This tuning work includes aerodynamic improvements and the largest street-legal brake parts with steel discs and six-piston brake calipers. The press release provides all the nitty details.

Further pricing quotes were not released but you can expect them to be astronomical for this is as exotic as tuning gets.

2009 BMW M7 Rendering: Think They'll Build One?

Sure we could have built a nice story around the above rendering that was created by Autojunk member Mac90, but if you want our opinion, the answer to the question is most likely 'nein'. See, while there has been talk over the years for the introduction of an M7 that would target the Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG and Audi S8 models, BMW officials have never actually taken the matter seriously and from the looks of it, they probably never will. -Continued

Plus, let's not forget that the Bavarian automaker has already admitted that it is working on a production version of the CS four-door-coupe concept that was previewed at last year's Shanghai Auto Show in China. It wouldn't make much sense for BMW to have both the CS and the M7 in its lineup.
