Brabus presents tuning program for the Tesla Roadster

Wow, that's something interesting. Though actually we were wondering when will the first tuning programs for electric cars show up. And it looks like German tuner Brabus, specialized in programs for Mercedes cars is among the first ones to announce a tuning program for the Tesla Roadster. No power upgrades here, only a series of styling upgrades. These include a "space sound generator" that makes the Tesla sound as if powered by a mighty V8, race car engine or "Beam" and "Warp" futuristic sounds. Brabus has also fitted the car with LED running lamps, underbody neon lighting, a rear wing, new wheels (18 inch on the front and 19 at the rear), plus a matte white paint finish. The outcome depends a lot on each person's tastes, but all in all we think it's a decent upgrade and it shows that electric cars are ready to go mainstream. Of course, that doesn't mean Tesla is ready, because they have a lot of problems on their hands now, not to mention that there haven't been many Roadsters available so far.

In addition, BRABUS offers a wide range of exclusive accessories from a limited-slip rear differential to custom-tailored 19-inch wheels complete with corresponding high-performance tires, from a height-adjustable coil-over suspension and generously dimensioned high-performance brakes to exclusive interior options.The BRABUS engine specialists have developed the B63 S performance kit specifically for the fast-revving engine of the Mercedes C 63 AMG. It consists of free-flow high-performance metal catalysts, sport air filters and newly programmed engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition and injection. Together these components result in an increase in power output from 457 hp (450 bhp) / 336 kW to 530 hp (523 bhp) / 390 kW. Peak torque grows from 600 Nm to 650 Nm (442 to 479 lb-ft).

 

Rolls-Royce Pininfarina Hyperion

Pininfarina has just released its toughest model out there in the Pebble Beach Concours at August 2008. Overall, its size and build has been a question to all of us. In all of heritage and tradition, based on the Rolls Royce, this takes the cake in history between these two models.

It has made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show; also Pininfarina has showed off its highly anticipated electric cars: Ferrari California and the Maserati Quattroporte MY 08. All of these cars are designed by the only Pininfarina in Paris.

In order to please other companies, Pininfarina has added a different view of creativity and ability to interpret other companies. This car, I would say will make a good impression on its buyers and other companies.

2008 Brabus B63 S

The high performance car made by the BRABUS is now available in the new C 63 AMG. The BRABUS B63 S performance kit has a amazing 73 hp/ 53.7 kW to the rated power output of the 6.2-liter V8 engine, and achieving top speeds of 197 mph. BRABUS offers a wide range of exclusive accessories to a limited-slip rear to a custom-made 19-inch wheel, high-performance, height-adjustable coil-over suspension and a newly designed brakes to ensure the most possible safety.

Acceleration performance has improved with their added power: Reaching top speeds of 0-60 mph in a short time of 4.1 seconds. Only reasons why this car can achieve top speeds of that magnitude and accelerates that fast are due to their 19-inch high-performance tires from Pirelli or YOKOHAMA. The tires range in sizes of 235/35 ZR 19 and side wheels of 265/30 ZR 19. The high-adjustable BRABUS coil-over suspension features gas-pressure shocks with ten selectable settings for bound and rebound. It offers the drivers a sporty feeling with quick precision handling and safety.

Brabus SV12 S Biturbo Roadster

As Brabus updates their fifth generation called the Mercedes roadster. A powerful placement of engines adds up to a 720 hp, with high-class light-alloy wheels up to 20 inches. The SL 600 is the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo engine, designed by Brabus Rocket, the world’s fast sedan.

Adding to this collection, a peak high torque of 973 lb-ft. Increases from 5.5 to 6.3 liters, this engine’s interior is completely remodeled. A time of 3.9 seconds to reach 0-60 mph is astonishing; achieving top speeds of 219 mph makes this car one of the worlds fastest.

Brabus has added a high-end braking system for the SL-Class in four different versions. The interior has been upgraded to a new status of luxury, adding a combination of durable Brabus and Mastik leather and Alcantara.

Brabus SLK55 AMG

Brabus offers its 6.1 S displacement engine for SLK55 AMG. It has a power output of 438 hp and produces a peak torque of 468 lb. per ft. It reaches 0 to 60 mph at 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 191 mph.

The installation of the Brabus stainless steel sport exhaust system is helpful not only for tuned engines. Its four chrome plated tail pipes give the 2008 Brabus SLK55 AMG a more unique appearance and produce an even more sonorous exhaust sound on all SLK engines.

The striking Brabus front spoiler lowers lift on the front axle at high speeds. The rear of the SLK is upgraded by the Brabus apron with cut outs for the quad sport exhaust and the understated Brabus spoiler lip on the trunk lid. Brabus light alloy wheels are available for the Mercedes SLK in one piece or multi piece designs with diameters of 17, 18 and 19 inches.

The available Brabus suspension modifications for the SLK are specifically calibrated to the use with sporty wide tires. Engine specific Brabus sport springs lower the ride height of the roadster by 30 millimeters. Brabus sport suspensions combine this lowered center of gravity with a stronger and comfortable damper setup. To reduce body roll even more in fast corners Brabus offers stronger sway bars.

Brabus also offers various versions of high performance brake systems for the new SLK. The largest version features six piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355 mm (14 inches) vented and slotted discs on the front axle. The rear axle is fitted with 300 mm (11.8 inches) discs and four piston aluminum fixed calipers. Special flex steel brake lines ensure continuous high brake pressure.

Brabus Widestar 2007

A higher horse powered, better handling and wider version of AMG tuned M-class has been created by BRABUS.This special model, WIDESTAR BRABUS, based on the Mercedes ML63 has made it’s debut at the Geneva Show 2007.Dynamic looks combined with maximum functionality are the main features that characterise the BRABUS WIDESTAR concept. The BRABUS WIDESTAR body conversion consists of add-on parts for the doors, and rocker panels that create a more homogenous transition between the fender flares. But that’s not all:Complete front and rear fascias replace their production counterparts front and back. The front spoiler bumper with three striking air inlets and four integrated auxiliary headlights lends the M-Class more passing clout and minimises lift on the front axle. In combination with the rear spoiler the rear fascia with integrated diffuser and cut-outs for the four chrome tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system provides the perfect aerodynamic balance.The production V8 engine delivers 510 hp / 375 kW. It is fitted with sport air filters and high-performance metal catalysts as well as newly programmed engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition and injection. Together these measures result in an increase in power output by 40 hp / 31 kW to 550 hp / 404.8 kW. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 630 Nm to 650 Nm. Vehicle performance benefits accordingly: The sprint from rest to 100 km/h is shortened to 4.9 seconds. The engine tuning and installation of the BRABUS V/max unit increase the top speed from 250 km/h to 275 km/h.Safety has also been improved through a high-performance brake system.
